Blossoming Bag



A handy bag for travelling light, but it's bursting at the seams with beautiful blossoms of colour. 

Pattern Description
Individual flower motifs for the bag using a Join As You Go construction technique with simple handles and a sewn fabric lining.  Includes: A full pattern with clearly written instructions, US stitch names listed for reference, full instructions and diagrams for construction, photo tutorials included for special techniques and joining, instructions included for sewn in lining with helpful pictures.

Skill Level
Intermediate
Simple stitches used throughout, the bag is constructed using JAYG and a sewn lining so some experience with these techniques would be useful, however help is included.

Yarn
11 balls of Bergere de France Ideal
20307 - Brouilly (Deep red),  20555 - Cyclamen (Raspberry),  20754 - Olivine (Olive),  20846 - Chenas (Plum),  20933 - Linaire (Soft blue),  22375 - Balladone (Soft violet),  22513 - Banane (Banana),  23026 - Danseuse (Soft pink),  23587 - Mariner (Mid blue),  24109 - Vitamine (Orange),  25994 - Fougere (Fern) 

Substitutions 
You will need approximately: A total of 350 yards of Sport/Lightweight DK yarn 250 yards in various colours for the blossoms 100 additional yards of your chosen bag band/handle flap colour

Hook | 3.5mm (US G)
Materials | Yarn Needle,  Stitch markers or pins,  Bag Handle - I used a wooden ‘D’ ring handle 16cm (6.5”),  Fabric for the lining (2 pieces, approx 10 x 16”),  A sewing machine would be very helpful

Size | 22cm (8.5”) wide by 20cm (8”) high, not including handles.
Gauge | Blossoms are 3.5cm (1.5”) square
Gauge isn’t critical but you may need to adjust your fabric requirements if your gauge is different.
