Cotton Candy Cupcakes

You can make these cuter than cute cupcakes with any spare 4ply or sock yarn that you have left lying around.

Description
This pattern is for a knitted cupcake, worked in the round complete with instructions for decorative finishing touches.  After I made Yummy Scrummy Cupcakes using dk, I wanted to make a similar pattern, but for 4 ply yarn so I re-worked the pattern and this is the result. I’ve made it slightly simpler too, leaving out the fiddly ‘picking up stitches’ part.

Skill Level
Intermediate
Basic knit stitches, experience knitting in the round would be useful.
Some basic crochet skills are required for the decorative elements of this pattern. You will only need to be able to make a chain. Or you can miss out the crochet part if you prefer.
